Luke's Life

Luke's not a big fan of ravioli's.(I had to make chicken nuggets to make up for it)

He's playing with Laura's tea pot and mailbox.
I feel bad if I don't say something about both kids, and since I put a post up earlier with just Laura I thought I had better put Little man in one too. Luke is constantly impressing me with what he does. He now mimics me with the phone. He picks up his play phone and puts it up to his ear. Then he talks into it, and walks around. Greg and I sit and laugh at him. We are working on counting. He likes to count to 3 for us. He's pretty good at holding up his fingers to show you, but the words don't always come out clear. He will sit and practice on his own. He takes his Mega blocks and stacks them. He counts each one as he puts them together. He also enjoys the game hide-n-seek. The only problem is he is horrible at it. He always hides in the same place (behind the rocking chair), and if you take to long he starts laughing and rocking the chair to help you find him.

Luke is doing his happy dance here.

He's playing with Laura's kitchen in her room.

Laura's Life

Smiling for the camera

Laura after bathtime (she was smiling, but I think the flash scared her)

Laura has finally (cross my fingers) settled into her nightly routine. She does still nap alot during the daytime, but she sleeps through the night. She likes to take a bath around 7:30. Then she'll drink a full bottle. After which she'll watch a little TV with mom and dad. When I watch her those little eyes start getting heavy, and she's asleep. The amazing thing is once she goes down, she's asleep. Both of my kids sleep like their daddy. I swear someone could set off a bomb around our house, and those guys would still be sleeping. Otis and I are the two light sleepers of the household.

Of course she's sucking her thumb

Blue's Clues and the Thumb sucker

Luke is multitasking (watching Blues Clues, stretching, and drinking)

No this isn't some weird new TV series. It's just my life right now. Luke has become obsessed with Blue's Clues and Elmo. I watch both with him (most of the time) and they are educational. So I guess that's a plus, and it does give me a break once in awhile. I just hope it isn't this important to him when the weather gets nice because we're going outside as much as we can. I think I might start what AJ Shae (Herman) does with her girls and let them relax and get their fill just before bedtime. We'll see if that works. Now on to Laura. She is starting to sleep all night (yeah). She is starting a new habit that we're already trying to break. Thumb sucking! I kow it will be terrible for her teeth so I'm trying to nip it before she starts. It's just not as easy to break a 3 month old as I thought.

Laura still sucking on her thumb!

My Camo Kids

I dressed the kids up in their camo outfits for Greg. He didn't really mind Laura wearing a dress when it looked like this. I liked the little underwear with ruffles underneath.

Hallway Bowling

Luke has really become quite the bowler. The only problem is that he likes to be the ball. I now call this human bowling (I definitely don't think we'll go to the alley's anytime soon). We set up the pins. Luke sometime helps, but really likes to sit and wait for the right moment to strike (normally as soon as I set them all up). He hurls himself through the pins, and the ones that don't fall down, well he sits and spins and knocks them down with his feet. Then the expression on his face is priceless. He is so proud of himself for knocking them all down. Laura is more of a sideline cheerleader right now. She works on kicking off her socks while we play.

My Crazy Kids

We stayed in today when we heard about the snow coming. So we decided to take pictures. It didn't turn out so hot. I'm not quick enough with the camera to catch them both smiling. Luke had a chicken nugget in his mouth.

A Lazy Sunday

We did not do much of anything this weekend. I have been sick for almost 1 week now, but starting to feel better. Greg is just now starting to feel it. Luckily, so far, the kids seem to be fine. They both have a little runny nose, but no temps. They aren't acting sick or cranky. So we just kind of stayed in this weekend and recovered. We did decide to get some ice cream Sunday night. Luke decided he would just wear his Elmo slippers instead of shoes.

This was Luke posing with his cool Elmo slippers.
This was Luke's special pose for his Grandpa!
This is Luke paying attention to the DVR'd Elmo's World on Sesame Street.

My Little Artist Luke

I did help with this one.

This one was all him!

Well I'm starting to reconsider the washable crayons and markers that I got Luke. It has become more of a job for me to clean up after his artistic episodes. I have really been working with him on coloring only on the giant coloring book pages that he has. I'm also working on coloring within the lines because that really bothers me. He hasn't mastered that concept yet. I know this is going to sound bad, but I find myself coloring over his work to make it look better. That's bad I know. I'm worrking on that too. Well, today I knew his creative juices were really flowing when I hadn't heard a peep out of him in a while. So I go into his room to find him coloring on his worktable. Yes I thought to myself he's finally got it. Then I noticed the little shit eating grin he had on his face. So I asked him what he did. So far he and the dog give themselves away everytime with this question. When you see in the photos he ran over and started laughing. The I looked at the door and realized that he was inspired to color on a different canvas (his bedroom door). Oh well, I guess we still have some work to do, but I enjoyed the use of the browns and purples.

This is the grin I commented on earlier.

This kind of shows the crayon marks on his face (he ate the crayon).

This is the door.

Hello Grandma and Grandpa!

Here are some random pictures that I took of Luke and Laura. I know that you won't be able to see them for awhile.
