Fall Fun

Well, this has been an awesome fall weekend! Finally, the summer heat is gone and the beautiful fall weather is here to stay. Luke seems to really enjoy it. He has played so much outside, and it's so much fun to watch him laugh and explore. He seems to be fascinated by all the leaves (which I should be raking and picking up but I don't want to). This weekend was extra fun for Luke because he got to go to his cousin Carson's birthday party. His fun got cut a little short because his daddy was on call, and wouldn't you know it got called in on our way to the paprty. So we stayed for about 30 minutes and left for the hospital. Luke and I played in the doctor's lounge until Greg was finished (it wasn't that long of a wait), and then it was back to the party. Luke was so happy just to play with Carson. It really didn't matter what they were doing. We laughed when we got home because Luke went over to his tunnel and sat inside it (I think he was waiting on Carson to come in). So his dad and I chashed him around for awhile. Then it was time for bed. Sunday morning he decided that he was going to play with his hammer that lights up when he hits things. Carson, I think your love of tools wore off a little yesterday because Luke never really plays with this toy much.

Baby Update: Well, I think we decided on a name for the little girl finally. Greg is so particular about names. So we decided on Abigail Brynn Ross, but we'll call her Abby because that is more normal than Abigail (so says Greg). She should be here on October 11th ! Thanks to Trish for the baby girl clothes. I can't wait to dress here up.

Tunnel Fun

At our last play date with Miss Bella Branson, Luke played in her little crawl through tunnel and had a blast. So being the good mommy that I am, I decided that maybe we needed one at the house (great one more toy to add to the play land that we already have and one more thing that I have to pick up). The only one that I found was totally enclosed so I was a little worried that maybe he would be afraid to go through it, but he wasn't. I was thinking it would be good for his motor skills, but now I'm rethinking that. He does like to crawl back and forth through it, but he also likes to chase you through it. Now with me really being the only one at home during the day with him (and Otis not being able to fit in it), I end up chasing him. That isn't the easiest task being 37 weeks pregnant. So Luke settles for hiding in it until you find him. However, instead of getting out of it he rolls in it. I guess if it keeps him happy he's fine, but I think I'm going to make this a daddy and Luke toy for now! Maybe it could even be a Carson/ Luke play toy at Grandma Ross's house.

Stopping for a quick pic.

Finally, made it through!

Dance Fever

Luke has really gotten into his music. Anytime he hears music, he stops and begins to dance. It normally starts off with just his hands and then he starts to bob up and down. This time he skipped the hand movements because he was busy working over the phone. Greg and I laugh because he dances just like my dad. He loves to take Greg's old cell phone and play the music on it. Sorry there's no Elmo songs on this video for your enjoyment.

Baby News: The baby girl update is that everything is great. We're looking at a due date of more like October 11th instead of the 14th (Sorry Trish we can't cram anything else onto your birthday). That's my choice because I'm so dam tired of being pregnant, and that's when my doc is on call!

Shopping with the Ladies Weekend

This past weekend Greg was playing in an Ameren golf tournament with my dad and Daniel. It's an all day event so my mom and I decided to take Luke shopping. We left Fulton early and headed to Jefferson City. We didn't stay long at the mall, but did find some good deals. Then we headed to the Lake of the Ozarks for some outlet mall shopping. It was fabulous. I had forgotten how big that place was. The weather was great too. It's funny though how your priorities change after you have kids. Instead of buying items from stores that I liked (Coach, Gap, Nike, etc.) I found myself buying things from the Carter store, Osh Gosh, and Baby Gap! What the hell has happened to me. I even found things for Greg. I shopped for everyone but myself, and somehow didn't even mind until posting this. When we were done shopping, we headed for lunch at McDonalds where Luke enjoyed a chicken mcnugget happy meal with of course a Dr. Pepper (thank you for introducing him to that Gregory). Then before going home we stopped off in Jeff City for some good old Central Dairy ice cream. They have the best hard ice cream. Luke seemed to be worn out, but as soon as we got back to my mom and dad's house he was ready to play (but my mom was ready for a nap). Overall, it was a great day. The weather was sunny and bright, and we got to spend a great weekend with my family.

Luke loves his Elmo chair (it talks to him)!

Who Lives in a Pineapple ...

Spongebob Square Luke that's who! For some reason Luke seems to really like that song. If he hears it he will go running for the TV. He doesn't really get into the cartoon though (thank goodness). So I saw these PJ's and picked them up for him. He seemed to have a good time wearing them.

Nap Time

I was in the middle of Luke's laundry and cleaning his room when he decided it was nap time. So I put him down on his mattress (which was on the floor) and then I put his sister's mattress down beside his. This way when he rolled he would still be on a mattress. Well, needless to say I didn't get a whole lot of cleaning done because they took up the whole room and I couldn't walk around them without sounding off some toy. Then when Luke got up he wanted to play on the new bed that I had made for him on the floor.

Labor Day Weekend Fun

Luke riding with his Aunt Whitney

This was a very busy weekend for the Ross family. Friday we decided to spend some quality time with the Bransons. We went out to eat, and then we went back to Mike and Jessica's house so Bella and Luke could play. They had a blast, and Luke fell asleep on the way home. Then on Saturday, we had a date with the golf course. After golf, we went out for dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Ross in the Valley. It was fun to see them. Luke again fell asleep in the car on the way home. Then on Sunday we decided to go to Fulton to see Grandma and Grandpa Toosley. Greg and Daniel went to Tanglewood to play golf. So we took Luke to the Biggest Littlest Fair in the United States (Mokane's annual Labor Day Fair). I had forgotten why I had never wanted to go, but upon arrival I quickly remembered. We didn't stay very long because there just wasn't many rides for Luke to enjoy. He rode the merry-go-round a couple of times and seemed to enjoy it. Then we went back to Grandma and Grandpa Toosley's and played outside and fed the fish. That night Greg kept waking up with a terrible head cold. It was a very long night. Then Monday, we came home and relaxed for awhile. Then we made a quick trip over to see Grandma and Grandpa Ross. Greg needed to check his deer camera, and Luke got to play with his Grandma. Overall, I'm exhausted!

Lounging in my Sister's Room

It sounds funny to say that Luke is lounging in his sister's room, but it's the truth (only 42 more days to go). When we first painted the Little girls room, Luke wanted nothing to do with it. I really think that he thought we had ruined a perfectly good play room for him. Now, I think he's starting to warm up to it (as long as I keep the screensaver on his pictures continuously going). Her furniture will be here next week. I'm excited to finally get her room finished, but I'm not sure what Luke will think. He won't be able to lay around and watch himself on the computer anymore because the computer is going downstairs to the new office room. Bummer for Lukie, but his only child days are short lived! As soon as I get everything finished in her room I will put up pictures for all to see.

Ravishing Luke Rude

I have to admit growing up I loved to watch wrestling (not the real kind but the strictly for entertainment kind). As I took this picture of Luke one particular wrestler came to mind (Ravishing Rick Rude). He was my little brother's favorite, but not mine. He did have a finishing move where he posed above his opponent and did a little dance for them. The way Luke had his arms on his head is the exact for the Rick Rude move. I know everyone really wanted that jog down memory lane and WWF wrestling, but it made me laugh. I'm sure Daniel did too!
