Morning Smiles

I had to capture Luke's great smiles. This is what I get to wake up to every morning, and every time I talk to him. I think he m

ay be a momma's boy!

Rubber Duckie

It's scary how much Luke is like his dad. They sit together and watch hunting and fishing together and he never makes a peep, but when mommy wants to watch HGTV he screams his head off. They make the same faces too. Now I've seen the next commonality, bath time. Anyone that knows Greg, knows that he really enjoys a nice soak in the tub (it's where he does his best thinking). Luke LOVES his bath time too. He doesn't want to get out of the tub. He sits in his whale tub and laughs and plays with the water. He also stares at himself in the mirror as we all listen to Earnie sing Rubber Duckie to him, and before we are finished Luke will pee in the tub. It's a funny site to watch.

The Ever Changing Faces of Luke

Well, it has been to long since I have put Luke's pictures up (or so I'm told). It's great now that he sleeps most of the night. The down side is that we don't get much done during the daytime because we're to busy playing. So blogging time gets cut short because Luke doesn't like to watch mom type. Luke has changed so much, I'm starting to believe the comment "enjoy it because it flys by". He's becoming his own little person. He smiles at me every morning when I get him, and he constantly cheers up when he hears my voice. It's GREAT! He went for his 6 week ped's visit, and he weighed in at 11 pounds (he likes to eat). He's starting to get lengthen out too (that's good so he won't turn into a square). He was 21 1/4 inches long. I'm hoping that he'll end up being like 6'7, but with Greg and I being his parents I really think that is wishful thinking. My sleep patterns have gone back to normal, and I'm absoultely loving being a mom. His little smiles and cooing sounds always make my day.

Starting School Early

Well today I decided to start Luke in school. I had to go up and get my classroom ready for the new school year (even though I'm not returning until November). Luke just sat around and watched. I did read to him a couple of books while I put them back on the shelves. He really seemed to enjoy Where The Wild Things Are when I changed my voice to fit the characters. I was thinking it must really suck to have a teacher for a mom. He's going to have so much more to do than all the other kids. I guess his dad will have to save him from my torture. We didn't get much done though. It seemed that Luke would much rather travel the hallways and talk to other people than work on the classroom.

Traveling Man

Ok, so this may not be an everyday thing. Most times I have to choose between eating, sleeping, going to the bathroom, or blogging while my child sleeps. My time during the day is starting to get shorter now that the vampire sleeps more at night. I guess that's a good thing. The only problem is that nothing gets done. Laundry is piling, dishes need washed, grass needs mowed, and my house is a wreck. How in the world do other people with children lead such a regular life? Oh, well I guess we'll figure that one out eventually. Luke does like to take car rides though, so I take advantage of it. This past weekend he went to visit my mom and dad (we're not sure what he's going to call them yet). We had a relaxing time (mostly because my mom never put Luke down and I got to spend time with everyone else). Then we went over to MIZZOU to watch Daniel play basketball, and to top it off we went out to eat. It was so much fun, and Luke was a trooper. He just went with the flow (I guess he really didn't have a choice).
