Grandpa's Birthday Weekend

Luke and Grandpa after eating birthday cake! I do see the resemblance of head shapes now.

Luke's Grandpa Toosley's birthday was this weekend, but they had a class reunion to go to back in Indiana. Since they weren't going to be in Fulton for Grandpa's birthday, Luke and I (and Otis) went to Fulton before they left to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had balloons and ice cream cake, gifts, and a great dinner together. Luke's uncle Daniel and aunt Whitney were there (along with Gunner their dog) and Andy and Lisa were too. We had a great time together. The only bad part about the day was leaving. Greg was on call that day so he didn't get to go. Overall, we enjoyed our day. It's always nice to go home!

Luke decided to play at his play table instead of Grandma's nice table.

This was Otis when we got home. He was totally wiped out!

Lazy Day Weekend

Greg and Luke both love their tub time! As you can see Greg has been studying for his boards.

Greg and I were going to make big plans for the "two of us" this weekend. We don't get to have just the "two of us" time really anymore, and with the little girl (no we haven't named her yet)almost here we better take it when we can get it. However, this weekend was different. His schedule was clear and well mine is always clear. My mom had made plans to kidnap Luke and Otis for the weekend too. Life was good. Until the point where we couldn't really find anything to do. Neither one of us wanted to drive very far, and everything we found going on just didn't sound like fun. So with that said we stayed home with Luke and Otis (my mom was not very happy about that decision). We decided to lounge around, Greg and Luke soaked in the tub, ran errands, and just decided to be LAZY! We played golf, climbed up and down Grandma Linda's stairs, and swam at Grandma Linda's too. We fed the fish, Otis played with Big Bubba, and we all watched a movie at home. It really wasn't that bad because we were all together! I missed seeing my family, but I will catch up to them soon. We promise mom.

Luke escaped after his bath and went streaking! He finally put on his pjs.

Otis just stayed out of Luke's way.

My Golf Buddy and Me

Now that the temp has dropped a little. Luke was able to get back out on the course with dad. We have to follow him around at every hole. He wants to stand by his dad teeing off, hitting into the greens, and putting. Putting is his favorite. That's when he gets to chase the balls and put them in the hole. Greg may never get to finish out a hole again because Luke gets to the balls first, and runs them to the hole. We don't really mind though, it's just fun to watch him.

Like Father Like Son

The more Luke becomes his own little person with his own personality, I start to realize "Hey I already know this person!" It amazes me how much he mimics Greg. When he was little it was his facial expressions, but now it's so much more. If Greg has his golf club out, so does Luke. If Greg is sitting on the couch watching TV, his shadow is right there beside him. Oh, what the years to come have in store for me. I really thought I wanted Luke to be only my little boy, but to see him light up when he sees his dad just warms my heart.

Caught Red Handed

Does this face look like a computer hacker to you?

Our computer had been acting very strange lately. I would notice different programs running when no one opened them, or folders open when I know I didn't open them. I even came in one day to find iTunes playing. I kept thinking that my computer must have a virus or it's possessed. However, now I know what is going on. Come to find out Luke likes to use his golf putter as a "go go gadget arm". He reaches the mouse with it, and starts to click the mouse. I swear nothing is safe anymore!

Caught red handed!

Computers & Major "Big Earn" Bedhead

Luke is fascinated with the computer. I think it's because his pictures are the screensaver. So he just sits and watches himself on the screen all day. Now he really likes to sit in the chair, and watch himself. He thinks he's something. That thing he's holding in the picture is his putter from his golf set. Greg has him working on putting every night. The only progress I can see are the bruises from him whacking us instead of the ball.

Greg and I joke about Luke's horrible bedhead. We like to refer to him as "Big Earn" off of the movie Kingpin. His hair has gotten so long in the back that it now stands up straight when he wakes up. It's funny to watch. Poor kid doesn't stand a chance if we don't stop with the jokes.

This is just a few minutes after he woke up from his afternoon nap.

Are You Serious?

I finally got around to painting the little girls room (with a little motivation and help from my mom). Never in a million years did I think I would ever paint a room pink, but I did. It's actually cute. It's not really completely finsihed (I have until October so why rush) but the hard part is finished. Luke used to go into the room and watch his pictures scroll through the screen saver. Now that it's pink he doesn't even go near the room. He'll stand in the doorway and look in. He even gave me a "What the hell mom" look when I told him that this was his little sisters room now.

My hallway isn't cluttered like this normally. Those are Greg's medical books that will be located in the downstairs office now.

Independent Luke

Whenever Luke becomes very quiet during the day, I can always find him sitting on his pillows with his blanket. I keep our TV in the bedroom on with his cartoons during the day, and this is where Luke likes to take his quiet times. He's never there without his blanket. He's also gotten very good at ignoring me whenever I'm standing in his way. He's so much like Greg it's scary!
